DLA Lighting — Returns & Warranty 

A quick note first 

We aim for things to run smoothly, but if there’s ever a problem you can expect a clear, fair and structured process. The details below explain how we handle warranty support, returns for change of mind, and special-case items.

1) Warranty support

If a product fails while it is still inside its warranty window and the failure is the result of a 
manufacturing fault, we’ll replace it.

What we need from you:

● Proof of purchase

● The product must still be inside its warranty period

● Details and/or photos showing the fault

Warranty does not apply when failure is caused by:

● Unlicensed or incorrect installation

● Modifications, tampering or attempts to repair

● Misuse, neglect or accidental damage

Warranty outcomes are replacement-based only — refunds are not issued 
through the warranty channel.

This policy operates in addition to rights provided under the Australian Consumer Law.

2) Returns when you change your mind

You may request to return an item within 30 days of delivery if you ordered the wrong thing or no longer need it. The request must be lodged before sending the goods back.

To qualify, the item must be:

Unused and uninstalled

● In complete original packaging

● In a condition suitable for resale

Freight costs: 
All shipping charges (including the original outbound delivery cost) are the responsibility of the customer when returning an item for change of mind.

3) Credit or refund options for approved returns 

After inspection and approval you may choose one of the following:

Store credit for the full product value (valid 6 months), less freight; OR

Refund to the original payment method, minus freight and a restocking fee 
(typically 40%)

4) Items that cannot be returned for change of mind

Change-of-mind returns do not apply to:

● Discounted / clearance lines

Custom-configured or made-to-order products (e.g. cut-to-length LED strip or 
profiles)

● Products subject to supplier restrictions (these may be non-returnable or incur higher 
restocking fees)

5) Clearance product warranty

Clearance items carry a limited replacement warranty (up to 12 months) that covers only defects in materials or workmanship. Other causes of failure (installation, misuse, damage, etc.) are not covered.

6) How to start a claim or return

1. Submit the online request form (warranty or return).

2. Our team will review and provide instructions before anything is sent back.

3. Returned items are inspected — once assessed, the replacement / credit / refund is 
processed in accordance with this policy.
